Who Is Edgar Cayce?
Edgar Cayce’s Association for Research and Enlightenment

Edgar Cayce
America’s most documented psychic, with over 14,000 readings on 10,000 topics, including:

For 43 years, Edgar Cayce (1877-1945) demonstrated the uncanny ability to put himself into a kind of self-induced sleep state by lying down, closing his eyes, and folding his hands over his stomach. He is sometimes called “the sleeping prophet,” after a book with the same title, by Jess Stearn. This level of meditation, where Cayce set aside his personality so as to be a channel of blessings to others, enabled him to place his mind in contact with all-time and all-space. From this state he could answer questions as diverse as “What are the secrets of the universe?” and “How can I remove a wart?” His responses to these questions came to be called readings and contain insights that, even 100 years later, give practical help to people all over the world. People today use the readings for many reasons, including maintaining well-balanced diets; improving relationships with others; understanding and overcoming life-threatening illnesses; and experiencing a closer walk with God.

Edgar Cayce (pronounced “Cay-see”) was a deeply religious person. He read the Bible, all the way through, more than 60 times (once for every year of his life) and enjoyed teaching children in Sunday school. In the readings, this love of God is expressed as an appreciation for the teachings of any faith which brings a person closer to God. As Cayce put it, “For you grow to heaven, you don’t go to heaven.” Equally important, the readings also clearly state that the information in them is not to get in the way of the reader’s deeply held spiritual or religious beliefs. Each person must decide what brings her/him closer to God, to Love. If a conflict arises: choose your own beliefs over what the readings say.
